Wear coral lipgloss whenever you want. I just applied some and I’m going to bed in an hour.
I’m listening to Suki Waterhouse - and I’m thinking about how she sings about objectification and underestimation, but I’m also thinking about the power that comes with that knowing, that awareness. Use it to your advantage. And use it to prove people wrong. Always.
Speaking of ^, Lorde has new music. It’s grey and it’s cloudy, but it’s not going to stop me from dancing around my living room to What Was That.
Make a dedicated date day (or evening) for yourself. I realized Thursday afternoons and a wine bar is when and where I feel the most creative, and the most inspired. The most free, and the most me.
Wait, if you were a day of the week - which would you be? I’d be a Thursday. I think because - there’s so many dualities to a Thursday. You don’t have the pressures of making it something - like a Friday night/Saturday/Sunday - but you can get away with acting like it’s the weekend even though it’s still, technically, a weekday.
I splurged and bought wild tulips this week. They’re so romantic and there’s something peony-esque about them.
Everything changes, but I feel like art is always my home. It’s something that always welcomes me. Something I can always go back to, time and time and time again.
Do you give yourself enough credit for when you accomplish hard things? I just had a heart to heart with my best friend this morning: “You were shown a much greater love with having the mother you had - so you’re just not willing to accept crumbs or low-key abuse.”
The more you want to gain out of your new life, the more you have to let go of your old one. I wrote about this a few Aprils ago, when I found myself growing out of relationships with hometown friends, but finding a new footing and entering a new era in a new city.
One of my new favourite quotes (again, from Georgia Towes’ Nobody Asked For This) - is when she writes, “It was that - what happens next? What would happen to me, who was I supposed to be after that moment, that made sense?”

Suki Waterhouse is criminally underrated.
